If you feel called to support those less fortunate, joining the Action Africa Giving Circle offers a meaningful way to turn compassion into purpose. Together, we create lasting impact—supporting one organization and one project at a time—and have the privilege of witnessing the real, tangible results of our collective, intentional philanthropy.
Action Africa Giving Circle members understand that their impact is far greater when they give together—pooling resources to create meaningful, lasting change that no one could achieve alone. At the heart of the giving circle model is shared decision-making: every member plays a role in selecting the organizations and projects we support. That means your voice directly shapes where our collective resources go and how lives are transformed. This is philanthropy that is not only powerful, but deeply personal.
The need across the African continent is both real and urgent. Many communities continue to face challenges accessing basic essentials such as safe housing, clean water, reliable electricity, and other fundamental resources that support daily life. At the same time, the impact of every dollar is amplified—allowing our collective giving to go further and support meaningful, sustainable change for those who need it most.
Your level of involvement is entirely up to you. We gather virtually every other month and warmly invite you to join us as often as you can. Participation in a committee is optional, allowing you to engage in the ways that feel most meaningful to you.
We do ask that all members stay informed about our grantmaking and take part in the annual vote following the grant presentations. Your voice matters deeply—because together, our collective decisions shape the impact we make.
Raising awareness about the challenges facing vulnerable women, children, and families across Africa is central to our mission. At each gathering, our signature Mission Moment deepens understanding, sparks meaningful conversation, and reconnects us to the compassion and purpose that drive our work.
These moments highlight a wide range of critical issues—from child-led households in South Africa, to evolving gender roles in Ghana, to the realities faced by orphans in Uganda. We’ve explored literacy initiatives in Zambia, water insecurity in Zimbabwe, community responses to COVID-19, period poverty, obstetric fistulas, and so much more. Each Mission Moment brings us closer to the lived experiences behind the work—and strengthens our commitment to creating lasting change.
